Daily devotions

Sunday

Early Sunday Morning

Sunday morning. Another week full of impressions.

Tuesday we had our monthly Leader´s day in Riga. Our Officers, Cadets and managers for the social institutions come together one day per month for information and sharing. But this day was historic! Leaders from the other Baltic states took part. It was a very positive day. The day sarted with Isabel Beckett leading us in worship. The Regional Commander in Estonia, Daniel Henderson, did the morning devotion and told about the Salvation Army work in Estonia. Joakim Storck from Lithuania told about the growing work in the only corps in Lithuania, which is situated in Kalipeda. I told about Latvia and Norm Beckett had a great Bible study.
The rest of the day we shared in language groups and prayed together.

This week we also received the monthly report from our new Social Center in Riga. The report included several touching stories about the families they visited and some statistics about what they have accomplished during that month:.
-During March 777 people have visited the center
-Consultation was given to 48 people;
-In the soup kitchen 400 soup portions were served;
-90 people had showers;
-50 people used the laundry machines;
-42 families were visited in their home;
-Food packages to families: 64;
-Small groups in Avotu centre: 60 people;
-Saved: 4 people;
-We interceded for the health for 14 people.
Let us keep on praying for the center and those working at the center.

Friday we had our Open Air meeting in Vermanes Parc in central Riga. The pictures below was sent to me from a person who attended last Open Air meeting. Picture from the Open Air meeting this week will come later next  week. It was a great meeting! The worship group from Riga 1 sang. Irina and Andrejs sang. Two dramas were performed. One from Riga 2 and one by the cadets. The sun was shining and many people were gathered. The soldiers handed out flyers with invitation to the meetings at the Riga corps.

You can expect more pictures and film clips from the meeting. It takes some time to download the films.

Have a blessed week!
