Joel 2:28-32 and Acts 2:1-12
The spiritual outpouring during Pentecost is the fulfillment of the original Jewish feast in which the hallmarks of a great harvest of souls and a new era for the Holy Spirit establish this as the original 'revival.'
This is still the birthright of the army today.
Introduction: In March of 1880 idle passers by in Castle Garden, New York City, thought the circus was coming to town. Descending down the gangplank of the steamer 'Australia' was an oddly uniformed man and 7 lassies waving flags never seen before in the USA. The man had been described as a 'lunatic' by his fellow passengers - for holding religious services all over the ship during the 4 week trip. The lassies had been described as 'half-a-dozen ignoramuses' by their own leader. As the curious gathered to investigate this strange mutation of Barnum and Bailey they were greeted with a hymn; "With a sorrow for sin, let repentance begin." Those who stayed longer heard the man - once again - get straight to the point: "You must be a lover of the Lord, or you won't go to heaven when you die!"
The Salvation Army was born in America - and it was magnificent Commissioner George Scott Railton and the 'splendid seven' lassies who marched down that gangplank and literally leapt into action.

Church in Syria Growing Despite Persecution
- Christian Headlines -
"Although Christians in Syria have experienced a surge in persecution due to kidnappings and attacks by the Islamic State, Pastor Tom Doyle says the Church in Syria is growing.
The tragedies that have befallen Syrian Christians recently have been manyfold.
Over 230 Christians have been reported missing and over 15,000 more are
considered to be at risk of Islamic State violence, Christian Today reports.
Despite these threats and the violent deaths some have suffered,
Christians in Syria remain steadfast and committed to their faith and
are even actively evangelizing for Christ, according to Doyle who is the
vice president and Middle East director for global ministry e3

The Universe Is Steadily Deteriorating And So Is The Human Race – Why Is This Happening?
- Michael Snyder in Prophesy News Watch -
Did you know that scientists have come to the conclusion that “the universe is slowly dying”? In fact, they have found that the universe is only producing about half as much energy as it once did, and they have also found that the level of energy is continuing to fade.
Not only that, our sun also appears to be dying. Solar activity has slowed down to a level not seen for about 100 years, and scientists are not quite sure what to make of it. Pretty much all scientists agree that the sun will die “one day”, but could it be possible that it is happening faster than any of them ever imagined?
In addition, in this article I will include information about how the human race itself is deteriorating. There is a common misconception that humanity has been constantly improving and getting better, but scientists have discovered that the exact opposite is actually true. So why is this happening? Why is everything steadily decaying and deteriorating?
These are questions that our scientists don’t really have quality answers for. But what they can see is that things are slowing down all around us. Just this week, there were headlines in mainstream news sources all over the planet that were proclaiming that “the universe is dying”. Here is one example…
The Universe is slowly dying, according to astronomers who have made a study of the fall in energy levels resulting from the fusion of matter taking place in the nuclear furnaces of the stars of more than 200,000 galaxies.

It´s Thursday - "I had a dream" (35)
`Pharaoh said to
Joseph, 'I had a dream, and no-one can interpret it. But I have heard it said
of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.'
I cannot do it,' Joseph
replied to Pharaoh, 'but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.' Genesis
41:15,16.
If Pharaoh's cup-bearer
had remembered Joseph when he left prison and returned to Pharaoh's service,
Joseph would probably have been released and headed straight back home to the
land of the Hebrews, (40:15). He would never have known about Pharaoh's dream,
or played his pivotal part in God's plan of salvation for the Egyptians. Stuck
in that prison for a further two years with no sign that he would ever be
released, Joseph would not have known that God was preparing him through the
hardships and injustice to be the man he needed for the plan he had for him,
yet Joseph remained faithful. Don't be discouraged by your own view of things.
In the valley, your view of where you are and where you are going or not going,
is very different to the One who looks down from the mountain-top and sees what
is beyond the hills that seem to tower above you.
Pharaoh, having heard
how Joseph accurately interpreted the dreams of the baker and cup-bearer,
complimented Joseph and expressed his certainty that Joseph could do the same
for him. But the pride and vanity we saw in the younger Joseph is gone.
Thirteen years have passed. The young 17 year old who was sold into slavery
(37:2), is now 30 (41:46). God has done a wonderful work in Joseph. He is now
very humble and recognises his ability to interpret dreams to be a gift from
God. He wants God to be given the credit
due, and he witnesses to Pharaoh.
All that we have is
only ours because of God's provision. None of us have anything to boast about.
You have good looks? You have intelligence? You have a particular talent? You
have good health? You have money and worldly goods? All these things are God
given treasures. They are good; given by God to enrich the recipient as well as
the lives of others, but they do pose a danger. Many measure themselves and
other people by the treasures they possess. Sadly, many who are so blessed,
long for the compliments and relish the credit that comes their way instead of
humbly acknowledging that what they have is not of their own making but due to
God's grace. That which he gives can so easily be taken from us. May we, like
Joseph, acknowledge that it is God who ought to be praised and worshipped
rather than the earthly vessel he chooses to use and bless. God bless you all.

Are You Mad at God?
- David Wilkerson (Feb 98) -
I believe there is nothing more dangerous to a Christian than to carry around a resentment against God. Yet I am shocked by the growing number of believers I meet who are peeved at the Lord. They may not admit as much - but deep inside, they hold some kind of grudge against him. Why? They believe he's not interested in their lives or problems! They're convinced he doesn't care - because he hasn't answered a particular prayer or acted on their behalf.
I received a letter recently from a young man who's incarcerated in a southern prison. This convict was once a committed Christian - but now he says he's mad at God. He wrote:
"I'm in a hellhole - and I believe God is going to leave me here! At one time I wanted to follow Christ with all my heart. But I had a sin that overwhelmed me - a sexual sin. I tried to repent, but it never helped. I read my Bible, studied and prayed - but it was no use. My sin always took control. And now I'm in prison for a long time because of it.
"I've given up on doing spiritual warfare. Trying doesn't seem worth it. God delivered me from drugs and alcohol when I was a new Christian. But why didn't he take away my sexual lusts?
