Buckner started experimenting with drugs and alcohol at the ripe age of
8. After being molested by a close family member who used their
knowledge of his experimentation to extort him, Kent neglected
to tell his mother, which ultimately led to a pattern of drug and
alcohol use following him into his adolescence. It was in jail that Kent
finally realized the dire need to change his life and begin the process
